San Carlos vs Mountain View Interclub Tournament, Sun, Oct 1, 2017

In August, the SCTC team beat MVTC to bring the Killer Squirrel trophy to San Carlos.

Now we need to win against a reinvigorated MVTC team that is determined to take it back.  Are you a 4.5 to 2.5 rated player interested in defending the trophy?  We need 12 men and 12 women on Sunday, Oct 1st with play starting at 8:30 am to 3 pm at Arguello Park.   A light breakfast, lunch, and drinks will be provided and a fun time is guaranteed to all players who register ($25 per player) at  http://sancarlostennisclub.memberlodge.com/event-2669857.  If you have any questions, please contact Vinod Herur at vinod.herur@gmail.com.  We also need volunteers to help with registration and lunch service; please contact Vinod.

Colossal Cleanup Day at Arguello

Many thanks to the amazing crew that volunteered their time on Saturday, Aug 19th, to clean up our now-lovely tennis complex.  You may have noticed the freshly painted benches, properly--hung wind screens, and the incredibly organized Shed.  In fact, who could miss that bright blue shed, Susan?  Our volunteers ranged in age from 14 to 84 years young!  Many thanks to Mirella Bucci, Gab Ho, Johanna Gelb, Calvin Woon, Paul Catalli, Dan Taylor, Ravi Mantena, Vinod Herur, Jack Hesotian, Michele Michon, Stephen Schery, Susan Gibson, Cecile Holweg, Daniel Krakati (a teenager that worked really hard), Patrick Mealey, Brian Best, and our Fearless Leader for this event, John Yarley.  Much applause for all your hard work!!

Fantastic Fun Day, and Samaritan House is the Winner!

The weather cooled off just enough to make it a great day for tennis at the Carlmont and Arguello courts.  With 11 courts in play, it was easier to get the 73 players grippin' and ripping shots all day.  MANY thanks to all the volunteers who made this big event so successful and especially to Ravi and Lynne, both of whom worked hard all day, as well as doing the prep work for this community event.  SCTC has agreed to donate all revenue, so that means that Samaritan House will get a check from us for $1535. Way to go!
