SCTC Teams Capture Medals at USTA Sectionals!

Last weekend, two of our teams competed at Sectional playoffs in Fresno, and both took home the hardware.

The San Carlos Men's 7.5 team finished second out of a five team flight.  This means second out of 148 teams in the NorCal 7.5 league!  According to captain Steve Carr, "This team displayed great commitment throughout the season.  There was full team participation during the post season with every eligible player on the roster playing in either Districts or Sectionals."  Way to go!

Meanwhile, our Men's 6.5 team took FIRST PLACE!  In teammate Ravi's account:
"After a Districts sweep win of 8 matches and only 1 loss, 11 determined players from the SCTC PresToes Combo 6.5 team made the trip to the renowned Copper River CC near Fresno, cooking shared meals in a rental house (no risky food for these pros!). The SCTC team defeated each of the 3 other Districts winners, taking 7 matches and losing only 2.  SCTC swept the third and final match, against the only other team to sweep in the Districts.  This is a remarkable outcome for a team that has great camaraderie, has fun, and practices long hours Wednesday nights; all characteristics that epitomize the San Carlos Tennis Club."
