Ladies: Tennis Tuesdays are Back

Beginning April 3, 7 pm at Arguello, come and play competitive 3.0 tennis doubles.  USTA rules without the $$ and drama.  Signups on the Events page - the first 24 players will be accepted.  All players come the first week for round robin play, then team play for the next 11 weeks.

Chutes and Ladders

SCTC runs a Mens singles ladder with plenty of players to test your game.  Sign up on the Ladders page and play your way to the top, getting some bragging rights and meeting new hitting partners.

Team Tennis 2018 Registration is Open

SCTC offers a wonderful half-year season of competitive and fun social Team Tennis at 2 different levels. This is a very popular part of SCTC's annual calendar of events, so be sure not to miss it!  Players rated 3.5 or below will play in the Traditional league, while those rated 4.0 or above will play in the Advanced league.  Membership in SCTC is required.

Matches are played one Sunday per month:  Traditional league: 8:30AM to 1:30PM on April 22, May 27, June 24, July 22, August 26, September 23, and October 28.  Advanced league: 9AM to 1:30PM on April 15, May 20, June 10, July 15, August 19, September 16, and October 21.  Please only sign up if you are committed to making a majority of matches.  Otherwise, we invite you to sign up for the sub list (contact the organizers below).

Spots on teams are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. You are not considered registered until you have paid (online).  Registration is limited once gender maximum is met.  You will be contacted by your team captain a few weeks before the first match.

Order in the Court

I called out a serve to my partner, but she returned the ball, calling that it was in.  The opponents stopped play and claimed a point. Really?  My partner overruled me before she returned the ball.  Who should get the point?

And the Answer: ANYTIME the ball is called out, the point is over. If partners disagree, then the point goes to the other team.  Did you get it right?  Check your copies of The Code  and Friend at Court.

Tip for Captains: Have hard copies of these documents at all matches, ready to settle any dispute.
