Halloween Tournament cancelled

Not enough players are signed up, so we had to cancel this tournament.  Mark your calendars now for next year!

Does Your Tennis Fantasy include playing College Tennis?

Scott Howard, the Assistant Coach at Mission Junior College in Santa Clara, is looking for a couple of women to play on the college team this spring semester.  This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to play college tennis but either didn't think they could play at that level or who started the game later on.  The season starts in mid-January, with matches beginning Feb. 1.  The season lasts until early April.  To play, a player must be enrolled in 12 units in the spring semester (including the 3 units for being on the team).  Check out their online courses!  The coaches are very flexible about attending practices (they really need players for the team matches). contact

Victory Against Mtn View TC

Wow!  The SCTC team rocked on Saturday, Sept 15th!!  We won the Interclub match in convincing fashion with 184 points to MVTC's 128.  We won 17 of the 24 lines played.  Thank you to all the players on the SCTC team!

The Best Sport for a Longer Life? Try Tennis - NY Times

People who played tennis, badminton or soccer tended to live longer than those who cycled, swam or jogged.  Read more here.   But we all know that.  Look at the average age of tennis players!

Web Wizard needed

Our club needs someone to oversee our website and ensure that things run smoothly.  This can be done at your convenience, mostly. I'm not passing the editorial pen (keyboard?) yet; The Buzz is still my job.  The rest of the website needs some attention. This is a great volunteer position for someone with less flexible work hours or family obligations.  If you are interested in finding out more, contact John Yarley
